If you’re in the St. Louis area, you should come to St. Louis Suburban Radio club’s Winterfest this weekend (January 28 from 8am to 1pm at the Collinsville Gateway Convention Center).
It’s the area’s biggest hamfest, and it’s growing every year. This year I will be hosting my first speaking arrangement at a hamfest ever, on the topic of Youth in Ham Radio. I’ll be talking about how ham radio got me where I am and how others can to, and about how Youngsters on the Air (YOTA), and the Collegiate Amateur Radio Initiative (CARA) work and my rough plans for bringing youth into ham radio, and ham radio into youth. I haven’t made a presentation yet, so this should be fun.
I will be speaking from 11:30am to 12:45pm CST. I will be following up Bob Heil, K9EID…so that will be some big shoes to fill.
Depending on available internet and cell signal I will attempt to livestream the presentation. Stay tuned to The Phasing Line Twitter and Facebook pages, my Twitter, and my YouTube. I will definitely have it recorded and posted to my YouTube Channel and on this website in a new post, and if I make slides I will host them here too for everyone to use.
I don’t know where it’ll be featured, but once I figure it out there will be links posted on the twitters and facebooks.
